Michelle Cahill is an Australian poet, the author of Night Birds (Vagabond Press, 2012), Ophelia in Harlem (Kilmog Press, 2010) and The Accidental Cage (2006) which was shortlisted in the Judith Wright Prize. Her collection Vishvarupa (Five Islands Press, 2011) was shortlisted in the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award, the Alec Bolton Prize and highly commended in the Wesley Michel Wright Prize. Michelle has been awarded grants from the Australia Council, Copyright Agency Limited and the Australian Society of Authors. She was CAL/UOW International Fellow at Kingston University, London and the recipient of several grants from the Literature Board of the Australia Council. She is founding editor of Mascara Literary Review and editedContemporary Asian Australian Poets (Puncher and Wattmann, 2013). Her work has been anthologised in 30 Australian Poets (UQP) ed Felicity Plunkett, the HarperCollins Book of English Poetry, ed Sudeep Sen and Another English: Anglophone Poems from Around the World(Tupelo, USA).
