Toby Fitch

Toby Fitch was born in London and raised in Sydney. His first full-length collection of poems Rawshock was published with Puncher & Wattmann, 2012, while a chapbook Everyday Static came out with Vagabond Press, 2010. He was shortlisted for the Peter Porter Poetry Prize in 2012 and has published poems in anthologies, newspapers and major journals, nationally and internationally, including Best Australian Poems 2011, Meanjin, The Australian, Cordite, and Drunken Boat. He is poetry reviews editor for Southerly journal and is a doctoral candidate at Sydney University.

His work with Red Room has included a workshop at Kings Cross Library, part of The Red Room Company’s 2011 STACKS project in collaboration with City of Sydney libraries, and visits to Murwillambah High School and Cranbrook High School, part of Red Room's PAPERCUTS program. Toby was also a featured poet in the Late Night Readings at Restaurant Number One. The Red Room Company curated these readings for the 2011 Sydney Writers Festival.
