David Prater was born in Dubbo in 1972. Papertiger media published his first poetry collection, We Will Disappear, in 2007, and Vagabond Press published his chapbook Morgenland in the same year. His poetry has appeared in a wide range of Australian and international journals, and he has performed his work at festivals in Australia, Japan, Bulgaria, Canada, the United States, the Netherlands and Macedonia. His poem 'in a dim sea nation' was included in Best Australian Poetry (UQP) 2003. In 2004 he completed a Master of Arts at the University of Melbourne, his thesis being an examination of that curious confection, Marzipan. In 2005 he was an Asialink resident in at Sogang University in Seoul, where he pursued his obsession with PC Bangs. David returned to Seoul in 2009 as a guest of the Korea Language Translation Institute. He was the Managing Editor of Cordite Poetry Review from 2001 to 2012. He currently lives in Stockholm, Sweden.
